Why Duly exists

Duly was built by Mudit Jain, after watching friends get burned the usual way: a job switch, two Form 16s in one year, payroll that computed each stint as if the other didn't exist, a double-counted standard deduction, and a self-assessment bill that nobody mentioned until interest was already running on it. Helping them untangle it meant evenings of PDF archaeology and roaming from one “tax guy” to another.

The realization: everything needed to know your true liability is already in the documents you're handed — Form 16, 26AS, AIS, a few bank certificates. What's missing is something that reads them together, catches where they disagree, and explains the result like a patient friend instead of a form.

So that's all Duly is. No accounts to create, no data to entrust, no filing service to upsell. Your documents are parsed on your own device, the math is shown line by line with its sources, and when you close the tab there is nothing left behind — by architecture, not by promise.

The honest fine print

Duly is an educational calculator, not a Chartered Accountant. It handles the salaried mainstream — salary, interest, both regimes, TDS reconciliation. Capital gains, business income, foreign assets and other edge cases deserve a professional. When in doubt, take this report to one: you'll have the shortest, best-prepared meeting of their day.

Have an idea for Duly?

Duly grows in the direction people ask it to. A document it should read, a check it should run, something that looked off, or just a hello — every note gets read.
